A note on my selection. I have seen all the nominations mentioned above. The categories I haven’t mentioned are either because I haven’t seen the enough of the nominated movies or else I’m not that bother red about who wins. A could of categories I would like to mention are Best Film not in the English Language and Best Documentary, I have only seen one movie in each (The Skin I Live In and Senna) but as they both made it to my top ten movies list of last year, I would love to see them win.
I’d love for The Artist to win too, but I think you’re right TTSS just might grab the trophy. I’m glad to see SENNA recognized by the BAFTA as it’s absent from the Oscars. I have yet to see it, but the unanimous praises make me think it deserves to at least be nominated.
BAFTA tend to lean towards British films and the fact TTSS is largely overlooked at the Oscars may help it at the BAFTAs
I’m still sad that Shame and Michael Fassbender got the snub at the Oscars and it sounds like it doesn’t have much at the BAFTAs….I need to get on one of these voting committees!
Like Drive it was never going to be academy friendly, an amazing performance all the same! From TV obscurity Michael Fassbender is rapidly becoming the best actor of his generation.
