I normally see two films a week at the cinema, Sunday afternoon and one night in the week. However it has been over a week since I have been and having seen next weeks listing it is going to be another week before I go again. My local multiplex has 12 screens and is showing:
- Harry Potter (Not interested)
- Bruno (Not interested)
- Ice Age 3 (Not interested)
- Transformers (Seen)
- Public Enemies (Seen)
- The Hangover (Seen)
- My Sisters Keeper (Not interested)
- Year One (Not interested)
- Night At the Museum 2 (Not interested)
- Kambakkht Ishq (Not interested)
With Harry Potter in three or four screens depending on day and Bruno and Ice Age 3 taking another two each there is little room for other films. For example sunshine cleaning only lasted a week and I missed it.
Please something good open soon!
I do have the new digital print (I think that may be an oxymoron but you get my meaning) of The Blues Brothers to look forward to next Thursday.
yeah, it seems im in the same kind of funk as you. it hasnt been a great summer for movies i would have to say, with only Star Trek and The Hangover really hitting the spot so far. although i admit there is plenty i havent yet seen. i felt so burned by the not-terrible-yet-completely-dull-and-empty Terminator Salvation, and it made me think i should be more selective. i kinda did want to see Transformers 2 a few months ago, but by all accounts it is a huge big steaming pile of Decepticon-testicled crap.. so i am a little apprehensive. still have a few dvds in the collection that havent been watched though, so i got that going for me… which is nice.
I hate when this happens when I big crowd puller like Harry Potter takes up like 4/5 screens and you have pretty much seen everything else and you find the other films to be very morning and just in general not appealing at all (which often tend to be comedy movies for me, and it looks as though your the same).
[…] 23, 2009 by fandangogroovers Last week I made a plea for my local cinema to put something on for me to see as I hadn’t been since seeing Public Enemies two weeks ago. Although Harry Potter is still going […]
