Hahaha, you just wait til Zeroes hits Blu-Ray. That thing is gonna FLY off the shelves I tell ya. That’s a crazy amount of movies though, man. Very cool. Did I mention this project rocked?
And let me be the first to say that Con Air Cool Hand Luke sounds like the best movie EVER.
fixed that one now, it did sound cool though!
I know these 2 are right next to each other but Big Trouble in Little China and Boogie Nights sounds like a fun night of film watching!
Love that 2 of my movies have posters up there… BOOYA!
42 bloggers… someone missed me and my picks
you are up now sorry!
Hot damn! That is a lot of movies! Nice to see so much variety amongst us movie geeks. Thanks for running this, Andy. It was awesome, and it’s inspired me to host one of my own (to be determined at a later date).
You know what? This is the best plan ever.
Not only do I get my eight DVDs, I get to bogart all of yours! It’s brilliant!
Thanks for compiling the list Andy. Jaysus, we’re a diverse group, aren’t we?
But none of us thought to bring The Godfather Part II
what a load of shit movies
And the Desert Island meme continues. I think you may have created a monster here.
Weird how all three Bourne and LOTR films got picked.
I reckon that list coudl keep me happy for a good while….
(Billy Elliot Billy Madison….? Might want to look into that ;P)
Haven’t you seen Billy Elliot Billy Madison it is often shown as a double bill with Con Air Cool Hand Luke!
Both errors now corrected, any more I have missed?
[...] Andy has now compiled the list of all the movies that were chosen by the 42 bloggers involved, and it makes for interesting [...]
One question – what was the most popular choice?
Actually two questions – who was the dirty birdie who chose 9 SONGS?
I don’t know for sure, Darren from the mOvie blog collated them. Off the top of my head lots of movies got three or four I think The Dark Knight was top with five or six.
9 songs was Ross McD’s choice, justified by the great use of music with the footnote “Seriously though. I’m gonna need some smut”. at least he’s honest. On that subject Lady Hatter did say she wanted her own island so I guess your on your own! Joking aside 9 Songs is actually a good movie although not Michael Winterbottom’s best it is strangely beautiful.
Ahhh, so Ross McD is the pervy bastard huh?
I kid. I was actually more surprised because I’ve never met anyone else who’s actually seen that film besides me – and I swear I saw it for the music!
Dude, that’s one helluva list! We’ll never get bored now, although we’ll spend a lot of time fighting about inane details, like whether “Casablanca” is better than “Some Like It Hot.” ‘Cause we’re movie nerds like that.
Can’t see my “sundryandco” ones on there – Although, I suspect I am probably the only person with deep nostalgia for The Santa Claus movie. Not to worry, I’ll be on another island with my DVD selection all to myself!
Great selection of DVDs on the list, particularly X-Files, Terminator and Jurassic Park
Casablanca isn’t as good as Some Like It Hot, M!
