A Good Month. I have seen ten films at the cinema this month, having used my “Unlimited” card it has worked out at £1.35 per movie. Not bad! A slight change this month as I have decided to nominate six movies not five. They are:

- Triangle: Strange goings on aboard a ship.
- Pandorum: Strange goings on aboard a space ship.
- Zombieland: More comedy than horror but it really works!
- The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: Far from Terry Gilliam’s best work but still worth seeing.
- Fantastic Mr. Fox: Amazingly realistic 3D CG animation is not used for this film, that’s a good thing!
- An Education: Unoriginal but quality coming of age drama with a great leading performance.

An Education did not open at my cinema
But dont you just love the Unlimited Pass!
It only opened in about a quarter of Cineworlds. They are probably sharing prints so you will get it next week. I am lucky, geographically speaking, I live 20 min’s drive from three of their cinemas so never go anywhere else. I have had an unlimited card since they first started doing them ten years ago, the only problem is I keep having to show them my driving licence to prove it is me as I look so young on the photo!
man, your dedication to movie-going impresses me – £1.35 a movie – thats great! thats just a little bit more than a loaf of bread
I’m making up for July when there were only three films worth seeing – and one of those was the re-release of The Blues Brothers!
A most pleasing and excellent choice, Fandango. “Zombieland” had me rolling, and then I was all touched by the character interactions. Plus there was that KICKASS celeb cameo (under threat of slow, agonizing death I will not reveal it here or anywhere!) and Jesse Eisenberg being all droll and poignant. It’s aces all the way around.
